We have taken our holiday in Kalami, Corfu as a family several times over the years with Oliver being only two and Luisa four when we first went out. A beautiful and tranquil cove set on the north east side of the island and home for Laurence Durrell and his wife Nancy during the mid 1930’s and where he famously wrote his book Prospero’s Cell.
With only 20kg luggage my thoughts and that of my daughter Luisa is what to pack, or what not to pack is probably more the case! After very careful consideration the only footwear you really need is a pair of havaianas.
Havaianas are the perfect holiday solution being light weight, extremely comfortable and with such an amazing selection of styles to choose from, for me it ticked all the boxes. I decided on a pair of plain blue slim pair for everyday around the pool, strolling along the beach and touring the markets. I even toured Corfu town with all its beautiful churches and tiny cobbled alleys of boutiques and tavernas in my havaianas without a single blister!!!!!!!!
In order to sparkle up my night footwear, I decided on a pair of black havaianas slim crystal which complimented my evening wear and once were super comfy for the stroll back to the villa with perhaps one too many Ouzos on board and the compulsory Greek dancing completed!
The decision to take just the two pairs of havaianas, meant I had more space for that extra couple of bits of clothing that “I just might need” – guess what, I still didn’t wear any of it!!!!!!!
